Nagpur Crime: Wife Arrested for Allegedly Hiring Contract Killers to Murder History-Sheeter Husband

Nagpur Crime News: In a sensational breakthrough in the murder of history-sheeter Ganesh alias Gurudev Borkar (45), who was hacked to death in Hanuman Nagar on Thursday night, the Crime Branch has arrested his wife for allegedly directing the murder by hiring notorious criminals on a contract of 1 lakh.

Wife Allegedly Hired Killers to Murder Ganesh Borkar

Police have also arrested one of her associates, while a search is underway for two to three other accused who remain absconding. According to the investigation, Manisha Borkar (37), a native of Kanhan, had married Ganesh Borkar around 14 years ago after separating from her first husband. Borkar, a notorious criminal with several cases against him, was known for creating fear in the locality. Police said his violent behaviour extended to his family, and he frequently assaulted his wife and children over petty disputes.

Unable to bear the alleged abuse and constant domestic strife, Manisha had left the matrimonial home with her children and shifted to Shyam Nagar. However, investigators said Borkar continued to harass the family even after they moved out. Fed up with the alleged harassment, Manisha had reportedly threatened her husband a few days before the murder, telling him that "if anyone would kill him, it will be her." Borkar allegedly ignored the warning.

How the Murder Was Carried Out

On Thursday, just after 8 pm, Borkar was returning home from a tea stall near the railway station when two assailants, who had allegedly been lying in wait near Chakole's residence in Hanuman Nagar, attacked him with sharp-edged weapons. Despite attempting to flee while screaming for help, he was chased down by the attackers, who repeatedly stabbed him after he collapsed on the road. He died on the spot due to multiple injuries.
